Dear Mr. Goldfinch:

In terms of knolwedge of artificial intelligence and mathematical
theory of computation, I think Dr. Burstall is the strongest of the Edinburgh group.  I
believe that his work in automatic program generation is up with the best
of it, but I have not followed this field in some time.
